John Crouch is the owner, head Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu instructor and head MMA coach of The MMA Lab, where he also coaches the Lab's Elite Team. He is a professor and 3rd degree black belt under Royce Gracie, and he teaches the adult basic and advanced BJJ and MMA classes. As an MMA coach he has cornered fighters in more than 170 UFC bouts, and his experience includes training Special Forces, Navy SEALs, DEA and other law enforcement personnel. Several of the Lab's instructors earned their belts from him, including former WEC and UFC lightweight champion Benson Henderson, who holds a BJJ black belt under Crouch. In 2018 Crouch and Henderson upgraded the academy's facilities with the aim of building a program that develops champions while fostering a family atmosphere.
