Ben Zhuang is the owner of School Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in Arcadia, California, and a 2nd degree black belt. He started training in 2003 under Rodrigo Teixeira, was promoted to black belt by Gracie Barra in 2015, and received his 1st and 2nd degrees from the IBJJF in 2018 and 2021. He has since promoted his own students to black belt, including an instructor he first met at a Pasadena gym while still a purple belt. Beyond the academy's jiu-jitsu program, Zhuang is the team's head MMA grappling coach, strength and conditioning coach, and nutritionist. He specializes in weight cutting for combat sports, has written a book on the subject, has cornered many amateur and professional fighters, and has worked with UFC athletes and the UFC Performance Institute as a jiu-jitsu coach, strength coach, and weight-cut specialist.
