Helton Silva is the head coach at Helton Silva Martial Arts in Wellington, Florida, and holds a first degree black belt in both Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Luta Livre. He runs the school with his wife Katie Silva, the academy's co-head coach and a black belt herself, and between them the couple have more than 40 years of martial arts experience. Opening a martial arts school was a long-held dream for the two of them. They are parents to four children, all of whom train and help teach the youth classes alongside their parents, and the academy is built around that family focus: Helton encourages families to train together and aims to make classes accessible to every age and ability.
