James Eric Foster

James "300" Foster is the owner and head coach of Foster Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and a certified fifth-degree black belt under Giva Santana and One Jiu-Jitsu. He began martial arts in 1987 at age 10 with Aam-Ka-Jutsu, an American karate style, earning a first-degree black belt after nearly ten years at the American Colleges of Karate in Kent, Washington. He first tried Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in 1996 at Mohler Jiu-Jitsu in Texas, where he met his mentor Allen Mohler and shifted his focus to BJJ. He trained or held rank under Allen Mohler, Marcelo Alonso, Marcio "Mamazinho" Laudier, Giva Santana, and Juliano Prado, became a Lotus Club affiliate and full-time instructor in 2003, and received his black belt from Santana and Prado in October 2005. His results include Pan bronze in 2006 and 2007, IBJJF Worlds Master gold in 2015, 2018, and 2019, and a superfight win over UFC veteran Trevor Prangley.
