Masakazu Imanari
Masakazu Imanari is the founder of the Imanari Jiu-Jitsu Association, the organisation behind Taiwan NoGi. One of Japan's best-known MMA fighters, he is nicknamed the "Master of Leg Locks", and the association was created to pass on his approach of technical freedom and creative exploration. His career and philosophy are presented as standing for more than submissions: the courage to experiment, to learn without limits and to express individuality through martial arts. His lineage runs through Rickson Gracie, Marcelo Behring, Waldomiro Perez, Roberto Godoi and Marco Barbosa, and among the black belts he has awarded is Steven Hsu, who coaches at Taiwan NoGi.
