Michael Eugene Brown

Professor Mike Brown is the owner and head instructor of Brown's Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in Columbus, Indiana, which he founded in 2016 to bring the art to his town. He started Jiu-Jitsu in 2011 at the age of 52, training under Professor Nick Pollaro, owner and head instructor of Pollaro's Martial Arts in Plainfield, Indiana, and opened his own school in 2016 with Pollaro's support. It began with eight students and now has well over 100 kids and adults on the mats. Brown received his black belt from Professor Pollaro and is a registered black belt with the IBJJF. Brown is a retired United States Air Force veteran of 22 years and a retired police officer of 24 years. He has spent the past 18 years at the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy, most recently in defensive tactics, helping train well over 400 officers a year.
