Randy Nieves is the owner and head instructor of North Fork Jiu Jitsu in Cutchogue, which he opened with Kristen Falek-Nieves in January 2020 out of his love for the art. He is an IBJJF certified black belt under Greg Melita and Richard Byrne of Hampton Jiu Jitsu, and has been instructing group classes and private lessons since 2018. His background extends beyond Jiu Jitsu to American and Thai kickboxing, folk wrestling and Greco wrestling, and he continues to train at Vanguard Academy and Hamptons Jiu Jitsu. Nieves has completed Safe Sport, CPR and refereeing courses through the IBJJF, and his teaching emphasizes fundamental skills; he holds that the best Jiu Jitsu athletes build on a strong base foundation and then evolve it with their own technical abilities. He teaches students of all levels and offers private and group-private lessons.
