Detailed Description

Seth Shamp has trained jiu-jitsu for more than 20 years and is a 3rd degree black belt. He received his blue belt from Kyle Saunders and his purple, brown and black belts from Royce Gracie, the last awarded after a test overseen by 40 black belts, a red belt and Royce Gracie himself. He is a registered IBJJF professor and SafeSport certified. For ten years he owned Triangle Jiu Jitsu Academy in Durham, North Carolina, representing Team Royce Gracie, and taught in Duke University's physical education department, earning coach of the year honors in 2017. He now teaches Gracie Jiu Jitsu in Vermont. A former college basketball player, Shamp competes nationally and at the world championships, winning double gold at the IBJJF Pan Ams at purple and brown belt and Pan Am silver at black belt. He has also coached MMA since adding kickboxing to his training in 2006.
